Number 5 in our Team Treasury Marathon!

We have another team treasury!  Thank you to Anna Werrun of AnnaWerrunGallery on Etsy for her treasury entitled 'The Diverseness of Vancouver Island!

 Read Anna's profile on Etsy:
"What am I passionate about? Art, recycling, and animals. Art is something I have loved since I was a young child. Thanks to my mom and dad for encouraging me to be diverse. I work with various mediums. I love to explore new art and technique. Recycling, it makes a difference. I love living life and by saving our planet we can continue to live longer. By reusing stuff not abusing the planet we can make a difference. We need to stop pillaging our planet. If everyone recycled our oceans would accumulate less garbage. I am not keen on animals being in captivity. However, I do support animals being captured under the conditions of rehabilitation and release like "Hope For Wildlife." Independent research has taught me many things. I encourage you to look up "Great Pacific Garbage Patch," and remember that plastics are killing our worlds wildlife.

I currently have my art displayed in Calgary at Friends and Gems located at the CrossRoads Market 1235 26 Ave, SE. Calgary, AB T2G 1R7, Hours:Friday, Saturday and Sunday 9am-5pm.

You can see other paintings of mine in Victoria BC displayed at the Coast Collective Gallery and am a part of the "Pendray Collection." 3221 Heatherbell Rd Victoria, BC V9C 1Y8 Open Wednesdays to Sunday - Noon to 5:00 PM"

Number 4 In Our Team Treasury Marathon

A big thank you to Nicole Bottles of FreshSqueezedLymeAidfor her new Van Isle Treasury called 'Sprightly Spring'!

She writes:  "I wanted to capture the feeling of winter transitioning into 'actual' spring...you know the season with flowers and sunshine etc, and not just a date on the calendar."

Here is Nicole's Bio on Etsy:

"For 5 years, I have been actively battling chronic Lyme Disease, a bacteriological infection (spread by ticks), which has consequently landed me in a wheelchair, in severe pain, and with short-term memory difficulties. This experience has taught me very valuable life lessons in love, respect and perseverance, helping to make me the mature and peaceful person I am today. I'm in my late teens, and still ill, although on the road to recovery. Throughout my journey, it was the arts that sustained me: knitting, playing piano, spinning, sewing, and making collages. There is nothing more relaxing than being up to your eyeballs in string, or elbow-deep in glue! Creating something with your own hands is an exciting endeavor. Crafting in harmony with nature is very important to me, and has been quite the learning process. Striving to live in harmony with the plants and animals around me has made me more conscious of how fragile life on Earth is. Human existence can be destructive, or nurturing, and I work hard to be in the latter group. It is through the collective effort of individuals that change is made. Thank you for supporting ethically & hand-made arts and crafts. <3"

Number 2 In Our Van Isle Team Treasury Marathon

A big thank you to our new Etsy Team member, Jackie J of IslandJavaBag on Etsy for her new Van Isle treasury, 'Whimsy on the Isle'!  Cute title, don't you think?

Jackie explains her treasury like this:  "A Collection of fun and eco-friendly items from Vancouver Island Shops! Representing our beaches, our green spaces our love of eco-friendly living and our fantastic people."

Here is Jackie's bio on Etsy:
"I decided to combine my love for coffee with eco-friendly bags and island java bag was born. Each bag starts as a large green bean coffee bag from an estate somewhere in the world, it travels to a roaster who takes the green beans and then passes the large bag onto me. I then re-purpose the burlap so it does not end up in a landfill. I get excited when I get a set of new bags because I never know what I am going to get.
I have an assortment of bags from all over the world: Brazil, Hawaii, Peru, Indonesia and Guatemala to name a few."

Our Brand New Etsy Team Page

We are pleased to announce that our Etsy Team now has its own new page which makes it easier to shop locally and support our local island artists and crafters.  This page works somewhat like Pinterest, in that there are individual 'boards' that categorize various products into an organized manner, making it easier to find specific items people might search for.  We are allowed up to 35 boards, which we now have.  Eventually these boards might change to best reflect what our team sells, but for now, it's a good start.  We are open to any suggestions, of course.   And if we have missed your shop somehow, or you have just joined our team, let us know so we can add some of your products.

Now that we have the page in place, how our team members can help is by sharing the new link on all of their social networks and such.  It should start showing up in Google Search, I believe, but we can help it along quicker by sharing the link ourselves, wherever we can. This will help your own shop as well as support your local team members' shops.  Here is the link:  https://www.etsy.com/pages/vancouver-island-team

https://www.etsy.com/pages/vancouver-island-team

Another way you can help get the word out is to connect with our team on Pinterest as well as repin our post.  Click HERE to view and repin our post.  If you would like to add some of your shop items to our Pinterest board, let us know so we can add you to our 'board'.  All we ask is that you be fair to other members and not overpost.

We have also 'tweeted' the link to our new page on our Twitter page.  If you haven't already connected with us on Twitter, I encourage you to do so and help out your team by 'retweeting' our tweets and sharing our team info there.  The more our team is seen on social media, the better.  It all helps!

While I'm on the subject, have you joined our team's Facebook page yet?  If you would like to keep up with things that are happening, feel free to join us there.  Let us know if you are involved in any craft fairs or artisan events we should know about.  If you are having any special sales in your shop, you can post that on our FB as well.  Again, just take care not to 'overpost' as it is our team page, afterall.  And let us know your FB shop link so we can 'Like' it.  It's all about supporting one another in our entrepreneurial endeavours.

Have a great, creative day everyone! Let us know you are seeing our blog posts by commenting below.  When you do, let us know the name of your Etsy shop and add your link!  GO TEAM!
